Dr. Gitte Neubauer

Founder and Managing Director at Cellzome

Dr. Gitte Neubauer is one of the scientific founders of Cellzome. She graduated in biochemistry from Imperial College London and received her PhD in functional proteomics from the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg. She has been a member of the Cellzome management team since its inception and has built and managed several scientific departments. After the acquisition of Cellzome AG by GSK in May 2012, she took over the management of the company. Dr. Gitte Neubauer is the author of more than 50 scientific publications and inventor of several patents. In 2011, the then President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, awarded her the first EU Innovation Prize for women – for the successful commercialisation of her academic research results. In 2012, she was appointed to the Supervisory Board of the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim.
