Steffen P. Luntz is a medical doctor and board certified anaesthesiologist. After six years of clinical experience, incl. conducting clinical studies he joined the Coordination Centre for Clinical Trials (KKS), located at the University Hospital of Heidelberg in 2001. After working as project manager in different types of clinical trials he directs the KKS, a clinical research competence unit, since 2005. Main task of the KKS which was initially funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is to support clinical research in the conception, conduct and evaluation of innovative clinical trials initiated by clinicians, but also by industry.

Steffen Luntz had an extensive training in clinical pharmacology and is lecturer at the Medical School of Heidelberg and other organisations for topics in clinical research.
