Dr. Volker Stadler

CEO of PEPperPRINT

Dr. Volker Stadler studied Chemistry in Heidelberg and received his PhD in Physical Chemistry in 2001. Afterwards he joined the German Cancer Research Center to develop PEPperPRINT’s new peptide microarray technology together with Frank Breitling and Ralf Bischoff. In 2003 they launched the junior research group “Chip-Based Peptide Libraries that was awarded with the German Science Stifter Prize in 2008, and published their new microarray platform technology in Science and Angewandte Chemie. In 2009 Volker Stadler was asked to head the DKFZ spin-off PEPperPRINT as CEO to translate the peptide microarray technology into a commercial product. In 2010, the company was awarded with German Industry’s Innovation Award in 2010 and received a Series A Investment of German High-Tech Gründerfonds. PEPperPRINT is meanwhile an established company of Heidelberg’s biotech cluster, and leading in the field of peptide microarrays and epitope mapping services.
